Archiving and Legal Hold
Support long-term retention and preservation

As sensitive content is collected, managing it and ensuring it is preserved and secure to support long term retention requirements can be complex. Index Engines has addressed this challenge by integrating an archive that streamlines the workflow, ensures defensibility and allows for flexible management and access to sensitive data.

Any data that is indexed can be discovered and migrated to the Index Engines archive. When data is preserved in the archive the index is also captured, eliminating the need to re-index the archived data, allowing continued search and access to the content via the Index Engines interface. Additionally, files and email are collected in their native format without translation. Using a binary collection process email is not converted to eml or msg formats but remains in its original bit-level representation which ensure extreme defensibility and accuracy.

The archive is a high-performance repository that provides flexible access and query capabilities, which can be federated for large scale distributed environments. Data can be searched, tagged and culled within the archive in order to refine the data set. User profiles allow web-based collaboration and controlled access to the content allowing for review by third parties.

With Index Engines long-term retention of data is possible, allowing access to data as required. Native data is preserved and can be extracted as needed for further review and analysis. The archiving platform ensures an auditable process that is reliable and can stand up to strict scrutiny.

As data is continually processed and collected the archive will ensure duplicate content and previously collected data is not captured. This efficiency allows for a unified and unique instance of records and avoids over-collection of redundant data
