HOLMDEL, NJ — January 26, 2012 — Index Engines announces the release of Octane Version 4.3, the latest version of its Octane eDiscovery platform, which it will release at LegalTech New York ’12 next week (booth#2105). Octane 4.3 includes major processing enhancements that preserve files and emails at a bit level from MS Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes, as well as indexing forensics images and evidence files at speeds reaching 1TB per hour using a single node.
Octane 4.3 adds full indexing, search, extraction and preservation of MS Exchange 2010 and IBM Lotus Notes Version 5 and higher. No other ESI preservation platform is capable of performing a bit-level preservation of Exchange and Notes data, which ensures accuracy and reliability of the content without conversion.
Bit-Level Email Processing is not only faster than MAPI-based access tools, it also provides more comprehensive access to email including logs, journals, dumpster/tombstones and even partial or corrupt EDB’s. As email is collected and preserved in Octane’s legal hold archive, the appropriate bits are archived without being converted to .eml or .msg formats. Index Engines is the only solution offering forensic images of culled Exchange and Notes databases.
High Speed Evidence File Processing allows indexing of forensic images to be performed at speeds up to 1TB/hour using a single engine. Octane can crawl the server or network directory containing evidence files in order to perform indexing, without having to mount an image. Octane 4.3 currently supports AccessData AD1 images, full content and metadata indexing, search, extraction and preservation of ESI. Support for EnCase (E01/L01), SMART (EWF) s01, ISO, and DD images is coming soon.
“Octane 4.3’s bit-for-bit email processing and forensic image indexing speed are unprecedented breakthroughs in the eDiscovery industry,” said Jim McGann, VP of Information Discovery at Index Engines. “Bit-level indexing is faster and more reliable because email is stored in its original format with no need for conversion. Also, Index Engines can now index terabytes of network data including forensic images in hours, and not weeks like traditional tools.”
