LAN Indexing Specifications
Index Engines Performance Metrics

The Index Engines system with the LAN Module allows the direct indexing of network data at unmatched speeds and scale. This appliance, running Index Engines patented software, indexes large data repositories quickly and efficiently to improve access, management and collection of network content. The technology allows easy access to specific emails and unstructured files contained within large unmanaged NAS servers or other network repositories.  The following specifications are a subset of Index Engines LAN Module performance metrics. Contact Us for full specifications.

  • Index Size:
The index footprint is approximately 4-8% of the original data size allowing for extreme scalability and performance.

  • Index Throughput:
The system is capable of indexing NAS data up to 1TB/hr/node via either CIFS/NFS indexing or using NDMP technology.

  • Supported File Formats:
Supports full content and metadata indexing of hundreds of common unstructured file types. Supports Microsoft Exchange, internet based email and Lotus Notes.

  • Scalability
Scales up to 1 Billion files and/or email per appliance.

  • Query:
GUI based access supports keyword, metadata, Boolean, proximity and many other search types. Results are returned in seconds. Result set are deduped and deNISTed.

  • Extraction:
Extraction of native data with all original data, content and formatting is performed directly from the NAS server. Individual files, emails or full containers such as EDB’s can be extracted. All metadata and content are maintained, data is forensically sound.
