Comprehensive ESI management and culling

Using the Octane for ESI processing, data is identified and aggregated from any available source, from online file and email servers, desktops, forensic images to backup tapes. ESI is captured in a defensible manner so that metadata is not modified, ensuring reliability and accuracy. Once ESI is collected all content can be uniformly culled and managed using Octane’s powerful processing and preservation features.

Intelligent Culling -  Automated filtering is available that can eliminate irrelevant ESI from the results such as duplicate content and NIST files. Any metadata field or full-text search can also be executed against the ESI in order to cull down to a responsive set of data. Custodians, date ranges, file types, locations and any other property can be utilized.

Dynamic Summary Reports -Reports by owners, dates, locations and other metadata can be used to easily filter irrelevant ESI. The reports are active allowing for one-click filtering on ESI. Using the Sender or Receiver domain report for email one-click will filter out all spam or privileged email from a specific domain.

OCR Support - Octane has a built-in OCR engine that identifies scanned non-searchable text documents and converts the content to text that can be searched. This process is automatic and ensures that scanned documents are included in the culling process.

ESI Management - User profiles allow for sub-sets of ESI to be defined allowing access to only this set of data by an individual user. User profiles are used to manage access and security to specific data sets without requiring access to the entire content.

Automation - Filters and queries can be pre-defined, stored and scheduled. As data is collected and processed it can be automatically culled using stored queries. This includes types of files, spam email, date ranges, locations and more. Automation accelerates the culling process and allows for repetitive tasks to be performed quickly and easily.
