Catalyst indexes a complete backup set (physical tape or disk) or forensic image, providing the organization with searchable access to the file and email data, creating a thorough index of what exists, where it is located, who owns it, when it was last accessed and what key terms are in it.

This process allows instant access to enterprise data assets, providing comprehensive searches to locate responsive content including: mailboxes by date range and owner, keyword-based searches, document locations by data and more. For example, if a fiscal report from 2006 would have been created by a certain comptroller in January of 2007 on a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, the owner, time frame and file type can be searched for, located and retrieved.

Using indexed metadata and keyword searches to respond to FOIA requests of aged, hard to find or ‘lost’ data simplifies processes, reduces labor costs and expedites the process of information requests.
