Backup Tape and Catalog Management
Backup is designed for disaster recovery - not long-term retention of business records, however, many organizations used backup for this purpose, and now realized the complexity and expense of having done so.
Index Engines delivers direct access to legacy backup data and management of catalogs, eliminating the dependence on the original software vendor. These solutions streamline eDiscovery and compliance requests, legacy tape remediation, migration to a new backup software, and legacy catalog management.

Classify
Using Index Engines’ reporting tools, data can be classified and organized to define the migration policy. This policy will determine what to migrate from tape and filter out the redundant content as well as data with no business value. Classification can result in a data set for migration that is less than 5% of total tape content. Index Engines provides built in reports and charts, as well as the ability to output report data in csv text files that can be used with 3rd party reporting tools. Additionally Index Engines support integration with Tableau for advanced reporting, analytics and visualization. |
